Rebecca Ferneding joined Low Country Rheumatology in 2026 as a double board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP-C) with extensive experience in emergency medicine, critical care, and military medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hawaii Pacific University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Cincinnati before completing a highly competitive Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. During her fellowship, she completed more than 2,300 clinical hours in a Level I trauma center, providing care for critically ill adult and pediatric patients. Rebecca also holds ATLS, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Rebecca proudly served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps from 2012 to 2022, specializing in Foreign Consequence Management and Forward Resuscitative Surgical Teams. Her background includes rapid assessment and management of high-acuity illnesses and traumatic injuries in fast-paced emergency settings, where she developed strong clinical judgment and leadership skills. She is passionate about delivering empathetic, patient-centered care to individuals with rheumatologic conditions and improving access to quality healthcare for vulnerable populations. Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys running, hiking, traveling, reading by the pool, and painting.
